MILFORD Haven Karate Club travelled to the third leg of the Welsh Karate League on the weekend and came back with two bronze medals and a silver.
Andrew John fought in a round robin event in the under 18s, and held his own against some top class fighters to come back with an excellent silver medal.
There were also bronze medals for Kevin John and Ian Williams in their respective categories.
Club instructor Kevin said he was delighted to see Chloe (‘basher’) Boswell back competing after some time off - and praised Andrew John on holding himself well against some established fighters.
“We are in the mix for the top three overall league rankings that come to a end in March 2018 and so our members must kick on from this now.
“And my own performances also need to improve as my distance and timing was out - but I will be stepping up my explosive sparring.”
Indeed, John’s next event will be one of the biggest he has ever taken part in - the IKU World Championships in Ireland in October.
