WRU National League fixtures involving Pembrokeshire sides for Saturday, October 21st (2.30pm):

Championship:

Skewen v Narberth

Despite last week's cracking win over Trebanos, yet again The Otters have not been afraid to rotate their team.

Last week's match winner Ianto Griffiths comes in at full back, in one of a number of changes, against a Skewen team sitting just a place below Sean Gale's men.

A win, and Narberth could yet jump from fifth to second by 4.30pm Saturday.

Narberth: Ianto Griffiths, Liam Hutchings, Kieran Jones, Paul Davies, Jack Parkinson, Jonathan Rogers, Rhys Lane, Ollie Evans, Dan Smith, Tom Slater, Ryan Banner, Alex Jenkins (capt), Dewi Williams, Sean Jenkins, Richard Rees.

Replacements: Bradley Davies, Rhodri Owens, Tom Powell, Lewys Gibby, Jack Price.

Division One West:

Crymych v Penclawdd

Last week was agonising for The Preseli Men, losing 16-15 at Kidwelly, leaving them without a league win.

But they have another chance here tomorow, and whilst they have struggled thus far, they can take heart from the displays of youngsters like Sion Colella, Jake Jenkins, and Ifan Phillips.

It will be heavy in Crymych today, which means the home side will have to battle hard up front for a win. But battle hard up front they must, to avoid being left adrift at the bottom.

Llangennech v Tenby United

I thought Tenby had turned a corner when they easily put away Aberystwyth earlier this month, but they were brought back down to earth by Felinfoel last Saturday.

And they have a tough test here, although Llangennech themselves have been patchy, winning three, losing two, and drawing one of their league games so far.

When The Seasiders click they can be match for anyone in the division, but whilst they still sit safely 10 points clear of the bottom two, Chris James will want his side to now find some consistency. Starting now.

Division Two West:

Pontarddulais v Fishguard

Last Saturday's thrilling win over Tumble is the result The Seagulls needed to kick-start their season. Had they lost, alarm bells would have started ringing.

The return of centre Mike Jenkins has been a boost, but it is up front where you suspect this game will be won in the inclement weather.

And it won't be easy, with Pontarddulais having won all four of their league games thus far.

But I always feel that if The Seagulls have their full strength pack out, they can match anyone physically. They won't be sorry to wake up to rain.

Tumble v Whitland - POSTPONED

Yr Hendy v St Clears

Last week's win over Loughor was crucial for St Clears, especially given they go to a Hendy side in third place tomorrow.

As mentioned, Hendy themselves lost their unbeaten record at Whitland last week, and whilst they will be determined to bounce back at home, The Carmarthenshire Saints will make them work hard for it.

Mike Jones and co now have a bit of daylight between themselves and the bottom two, and can afford to have a real go with the pressure all on Hendy.

Division Three West A:

Haverfordwest v Tregaron

It's been a strange season so far for The Blues. They are unbeaten in the league but have only managed three games, lost in two cup competition's, and already lie six points off the top after last Saturday's draw at Bierspool.

Their finishing was poor against The Quins, and they will want to sharpen up to make some kind of statement against a Tregaron side prone to leaking points.

The Mid-Wales side have some dangerous players, with full back Ieuan Wyn an evasive runner, but they shipped 79 points in their last away game at Pembroke and St Davids crossed four times against them last week. They will have to tighten their defence severely to have a chance here.

Laugharne v Pembroke Dock Quins

After a disjointed start to their season, Laugharne burst into form last week, with Mikey Williams putting in an incredible display to score six times in their win at Cardigan.

I watched The Cocklemen draw with Milford on the opening day, and if given the platform, they are capable of incisive attacking rugby.

But so are The Quins, who confirmed their real improvement by holding Haverfordwest to a 14-14 draw last week, a game they were just minutes from winning.

Both teams have pace out wide, and I just hope the weather doesn't spoil what could be a cracking spectacle.

Milford Haven v Llangwm - POSTPONED

Neyland v Cardigan - POSTPONED

Pembroke v St Davids

Pembroke have been rampant at home this season, and will undoubtedly be targeting another bonus point win here.

No 8 Sam Smith has been prolific in the try scoring stakes, but the scores have been shared around The Scarlets, and Geraint Lewis has assembled side capable of exploiting any defensive lapses or deficiencies.

The Saints are much improved however, and notched a rare four try bonus point despite losing in Tregaron last week. You suspect they would be more than happy to come away with the same this afternoon.
