Men of Carew are to bare (almost) all to help Macmillan Cancer Support.

If the recent heatwave wasn’t excuse enough to strip off, players from Carew football and cricket clubs have found further justification to get their kit off.

To help raise funds and awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support, they have been persuaded to 'reveal' in a special 2019 calendar.

Taking advantage of acclaimed photographer Ross Grieve also being Chairman of Carew Social Club, players and officials have become 'calendar boys'.

Each month has a different photograph, kindly sponsored by a local business, revealing the players as they’ve never been seen in public before.

The club hopes sales of the calendar will result in a substantial donation to the Macmillan charity.

A spokesperson for the clubs said: “If people have as much enjoyment looking at it as we did making it, and we raise funds and awareness for a very worthwhile cause, it’s a win-win for us. I’m just pleased we got it finished before the weather turned.

"We want to say a massive thankyou you to everyone who was brave enough to take part. Also to Ross for making us all look respectable, Julie our scorer and only lady participant and Rachael Knox for organising it all."

Calendars, which cost £10 each are available from the Clubhouse, or for more information or to place an order, contact Rachael Knox on 07970 544427 or Kerry Waters on 07813 687861.
