MEMBERS Of Pembrokeshire Disabled Bowlers Club took part in the one-day Special Olympics event this month at Plymouth Life Centre indoor bowls green.
All competitors were put into leagues according to their ability (A to D). They played a pairs format, with each game lasting 75 minutes. Pembrokeshire were in league C and competed against Plymouth, Sheffield, and Cardiff.
All played to the best of their ability and won medals in their category.
Simon Eaton and James Tyler, coached by Steve Whitmore, won silver, while Lee Bower and John Ellis, coached by Madeline Roberts, took bronze.
For John Ellis it was a first medal for playing bowls.
Olwyn Whitmore and John Bower went as helpers, with Alan Dennison and Ian Barnes the drivers.
