The 18th Rotary Clubs of Wales gymnastics championship 2009 for school children with special educational needs has recently taken place.
The Welsh Institute of Sport yet again hosted a very successful final.
Forty Pembrokeshire gymnasts had secured places at various levels, and the competition saw gymnasts from the following schools: Pembroke School; Llangwm; Pembroke Dock Community; Broad Haven; St Francis; Milford Junior School; Hakin Junior School; Coastlands; Monkton Primary; Hakin Infants; The Meads Infants; Mary Immaculate; Portfield School; Greenhill Tenby; Milford Haven Comp; St Aidens; Holy Name Fishguard; Sir Thomas Picton; Pembrokeshire College and Lamphey Primary School.
The gymnasts performed on floor, bench and vault or at rhymic hoop, ball and ribbon.
The floor, bench and vault gymnasts took part in varying levels from A to D, and in age groups, primary, junior and senior.
It was a very successful event for Pembrokeshire gymnasts and the following trophies were received: James Gau,, Llangwm, floor 2nd, bench 3rd, vault 1st junior A; Jordan Van De Capello, Pembroke Dock Community, floor 1st junior A; Owen Llewellyn, Broad Haven, floor 3rd; Euan Holne, St Francis, vault 3rd; Bethany Freeman, Milford Junior, floor 1st junior B; Cameron Baldry, Monkton Primary, vault 3rd primary A; Tom Fairbairn, Hakin Infants, vault 1st primary A; Dylan Dawes, Mary Immaculate, floor 3rd, bench 2nd, primary A; Victoria Walters, Greenhill Tenby, floor 2nd, bench 3rd, senior B; Ben Hinksman, Portfield, vault 2nd senior B; Daniel, Pullin, Portfield, floor 2nd senior B; Raymond Lillycrop, Milford Comp, vault 3rd senior B; Alexander Davies, Pembrokeshire, vault 3rd senior B; Adele Bevan, St Aidans VC, floor 1st, bench 1st, vault 1st junior C; Rhianne Cole, Pembrokeshire College, floor 2nd senior C; Emma Cox, Lamphey Primary, floor 1st, bench 1st, vault 1st junior D; Ashley Shefhan, Portfield School, hoop 1st.
Another very successful championship final. All competitors received a medal.
