Haverfordwest (115 for 3) beat Narberth (113 for 8)
Rain almost caused the match between Haverfordwest and Narberth to be cancelled but some yeoman work by the groundsmen saw a reduced over match take place where the Town eased through on 115 for 3,
after Narberth had scored 113 for 8 in their allotted 30 overs.
After being asked to bat first, Narberth were soon in trouble as skipper Ritchie Adams and Marc Hughes were dismissed without scoring by Adam James, who also removed Wayne Howells for 12 in a 3 for 12 spell.
Kyle Quartermaine top scored for Narberth with 31 (five fours) alongside Aaron Keane’s 23 (two fours) but Keane was caught by Huw Scriven off Phil Kirkby before Town skipper Scriven also pouched a good catch to shift Quartermaine, as Dai Davies returned to bowling with a 4 for 25 haul. Ian and Ben Hughes also batted well as Narberth sought to claw their way back but had to settle on 113 for 8.
Haverfordwest’s opening pair of Danny Potter and Richard James looked in confident mood in an opening stand of 47, before Potter top-edged a ball from Kyle Quartermaine and was well caught by Joel Davies for 28 (including five fours). Karl Rhead joined James in another solid partnership of 53 runs before James was also caught by Aaron Keane off the occasional bowling of Marc Hughes. Although Rhead fell to Ben Hughes for 31 near the end, a speedy 14 not out by Danny Field from only four deliveries, meant the Town were back to winning ways.
