Ross shines for Wales

Ross Mayes from Templeton has recently returned from representing Wales at the Pony Club UK and Ireland Junior Regional Tetrathlon competition, held at Thornton Watless in north Yorkshire.

Work on new stand underway Groundwork is underway for the installation of the new stand. It will be put in place this week, and will be ready for the new season. This will bring the seating capacity of the stadium up to the 1,000 required by UEFA for entry into European competitions, and will keep the Bridge Meadow in the top tier of grounds in the Welsh Premier League. Further work is planned on the stadium, with improvements to the existing dug outs high in the agenda.

Hook battle for draw

Lawrenny (229 for 5) drew with Hook (182 for 5) Lawrenny looked in a commanding position as they scored a huge 229 for 5 and had Hook struggling at 99 for 5 but then an unbroken partnership of 83 by Brennan Lay and Mick Haltam helped Hook secure a battling draw.

Tame draw as Whitland struggle

Whitland (166 for 8) drew with Cresselly (256 for 7) Cresselly’s powerful batting line-up ensured that they set Whitland a huge target but their bowlers were unable to winkle out the dogged home batsmen and they had to settle for a draw, where they at least received all the bonus points for being so far ahead.

Carew (166 for 4) beat Neyland (161 for 8) Ian Sefton showed what an asset he can be to Carew as he produced an all-round performance which helped his side go top of the table after they had beaten Neyland by six wickets.

Haverfordwest (115 for 3) beat Narberth (113 for 8) Rain almost caused the match between Haverfordwest and Narberth to be cancelled but some yeoman work by the groundsmen saw a reduced over match take place where the Town eased through on 115 for 3, after Narberth had scored 113 for 8 in their allotted 30 overs.
