I like the idea that all special responsibility jobs will be open to all to apply with the candidates interviewed and the best person for the job selected.I don't mean to be a pessimist BUT I'm sure they said that about Rev. Flowers who ran the Co-op bank - another friend of a friend and a good union member - sorry that's no different to a good chap as he went to Eton with me or is a good member of the Cleddau Lodge :((
Corruption is corruption even if no money is exchanged!

Give your ideas on ways for Pembrokeshire County Council to save money

As Flashbang correctly states, this IS a sham. I have been reliably informed from more than one source within County Hall that the cuts have already been decided by Bryn Parry Jones.
This "clique that pulls the strings" have had, and will have no say. The cuts will be presented to them for their "approval" at the first Cabinet meeting in the new year.
The current round of consultations with staff, community councils etc are limited to BPJ waxing lyrical about hard decisions to be made, no offers to staff to encourage early retirement and no wholescale redundancies. There has been no discussion on choices or priorities and will not be.
However important Adams, George, Pugh and Lewis think they are, they will have no input into the process, rather they will just be the rubber stampers who will claim they have widely consulted before coming to their "decision".
Contrast this with Carmarthenshire County Council who have held member workshops, presented potential cuts and voted on priorities, and published all the suggested cuts on their website, a much more open and transparent approach.

Cymru Bach, I understand your concerns but take a look at the Bethlehem College web site in New Zealand. There is a Kindergarten and primary school on a big campus( 80 acres). They have different lunch times to the secondary school yet they have access and share the performing arts and events sports centre and playing fields tennis courts etc.
The step to the big school is made easier by going to Junior secondary for Years 7,8,9, and then onto senior secondary. There is also a Teacher Training centre on site as well.
What underpins the school is it's Christian values and the promotion of servant leadership. Believe me it does work.

Cut on legal expenses £150k
Charge staff for parking in the kremlin.
This would not effect any services.
