TICKETS are selling fast for a performance by the globally-acclaimed guitarist, Martin Simpson, in Narberth next week.

Martin – widely acknowledged as one of the finest acoustic and slide guitar players in the world – will be playing at Bethesda Chapel on Friday, February 9.

The show launches Span Arts' 2019 Acoustic Guitar Series at the venue. Martin's solo shows are described as "intense, eclectic, spellbinding and deeply moving".

He has been nominated 27 times in the last 15 years for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards – more than any other performer.

He has also been nominated in nine consecutive years for Musician of the Year, winning the accolade twice.

Martin spent 15 years living in the USA and his performances combine the diverse elements of British, Afro-American and old-time music.

His 45-year career as a professional musician has included collaborations on stage and recording with Richard Hawley, Richard Thompson, June Tabor, Kelly Joe Phelps, Jackson Browne, Danny Thompson, Danu, Martin Carthy, Cara Dillon, David Lindley, Roy Bailey, Martin Taylor, David Hidalgo, Steve Miller, Dick Gaughan, Dom Flemons and many more.
