TWO unique choirs will be singing out to celebrate St David’s Day in Saundersfoot next week.

As the culmination of the village’s Cawl by the Sea day on Saturday, March 2, the award-winning South Wales Gay Men's Chorus will be making its Pembrokeshire debut.

Joining the SWGMC at the concert at the Regency Hall will be Pembrokeshire’s own Bella Voce, the lively ladies’ choir that last year won a standing ovation at the Royal Albert Hall.

SWGMC was lined up to appear at last year’s Cawl by the Sea event, but bad weather forced its cancellation.

So organisers, Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism, are looking forward more than ever to bring the boys of the Chorus to the county.

SWGMC was crowned festival champion at 2017’s Cornwall International Male Choral Festival, where it competed against choirs from all over the UK – including Tenby Male Choir – Australia, Russia, Sweden, America, Finland and Germany.

Alongside the festival's top accolade, the choir also won first prize in the 40 voices and under category, and a prize for the best single piece of music for their moving arrangement of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'.

Doors open at the Regency Hall at 7pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. A bar will be available.

Tickets for the concert are £10, and are available in Saundersfoot at Little and Large Lite Bites or the Regency Hall and via Anne on 07951 578550.
