TWO phenomenal acts entertain guests over the Bank Holiday at Rhosygilwen.

Belshazzar’s Feast, the amusing Paul Hutchinson (accordion) and Paul Sartin (oboe, violin and vocals), “one of folk’s odd couples”, who have for nearly 25 years wowed audiences around Europe, The States and Australia, entertain with their virtuoso musicianship tempered by wry humour on Friday, May 24 at 8pm

The BBC presenter Mike Harding has said of them that they play like no-one else you’ve ever heard. Their music is breath-taking and wickedly inventive and the between-tunes interchange as intelligent and hilarious as the music.

But they’re not a lightweight comedy act - their haunting pieces of oboe and accordion magic will have the audience spellbound.

And on the Saturday, May 25 at 8pm David Juritz (violin) and Sarah Briggs (piano) perform a programme of Beethoven Sonatas (F and G Major and No3)

David Juritz is one of the most versatile violinists currently working in the UK, dividing his time between solo performances, directing, chamber music, working as guest leader with many of Britain’s finest orchestra and leading his own group, the London Tango Quintet.

He was the leader of the London Mozart Players, the longest serving leader in that orchestra’s history. He made many appearances as soloist and director with the LMP, including his debut at the 2006 BBC Promenade Concerts.

He has directed the Royal Philharmonic, Zurich Chamber Orchestra and Mozart Festival Orchestra as well as many other ensembles. From 2010 to 2012 he directed the Johann Strauss Orchestra on nationwide tours to widespread acclaim.

Pianist Sarah Beth Briggs , ‘an artist of extraordinary magnetism’ (Michael Kennedy, Daily Telegraph) is a leading recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician.

A long-standing pupil of the late Denis Matthews, she gained a Hindemith Scholarship to study chamber music in Switzerland with celebrated violist, Bruno Giuranna, and remained in Lausanne for further studies with renowned Arrau pupil, Chilean pianist Edith Fischer.

Her professional career was launched at the age of 11 when she became the then youngest-ever finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year and a recipient of a Dame Myra Hess Award.

Four years later she gained international recognition as joint winner of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg.
