EXCITING Celtic rock band Mabon are making their last-ever appearance in Pembrokeshire next week.

The band was originally formed from two families in 1999, playing homespun arrangements of Welsh folk dance tunes in the pubs and 'twmpath' dances of their native south Wales.

This year, after a thousand shows in dozens of countries across five continents, the band has decided to call it a day.

Currently on a series of gigs around Wales, the Last Huzzah farewell tour recently played to a sell-out audience in Solva, and on Friday, March, 6 at 7.30pm will be at Penally Village Hall.

"A lot can change in 20 years!" they say.

"It's been two decades of sparky jigs, slammin' reels, mighty banter, stirring songs and a faithful following of ardent fans ...but now Mabon is hanging up its boots."

Tickets for the Penally gig are £10 and £8, available from 01834 844467/07790 463417.
