A MILFORD Haven family has raised £2,000 for the Alzheimer's Society by running through the streets of Cardiff.
Twelve members of Bronwen Barnard's family took part in the Cardiff 10k on Saturday (April 1), inspired by her grandfather George Davies' diagnosis of dementia last year.
"We are all overwhelmed with the incredible support we have had," said Bronwen, who visits her grandad every week, showing him family photographs and asking him questions to help keep his mind active.
"We only aimed to reach £500 and we ended up having an amazing total of £2,000 and we are so grateful.
"My grandad has loved hearing the beautiful comments people have said about him, and we are so proud that we all managed to run the 10k and raise the money to make a difference to other people suffering the devastating disease.
"He is our hero and we wanted to give him something back and make him proud."
Taking part were Bronwen Barnard, Bethan Barnard, Nia Griffiths, Ellie Davies, Sam Davies, Liam Davies, Sian Davies, Laura Davies, George Davies, Ann Davies, Megan Davies, and Niamh Davies.
