Pembrokeshire drivers are likely to be hit in the pocket again with another planned increase in car parking charges.

The council cabinet will meet on Monday to discuss a proposal to reduce the £415,000 deficit in the council’s parking services.

Two options are on the table – but both propose price rises across the county.

Option 1 would increase fees by £350,000, reducing the deficit by £245,000.

Option 2 would increase fees by £750,000, creating a £230,000 surplus to be spent on resurfacing works across car park.

It is proposed to increase the one hour tariff from 40p to 50p and the two hour tariff from 50p to 60p.

This would have particular impact in Milford Haven car parks, where one hour parking is currently 20p and would rise to 50p.

There would also be increases in 4/5 hour, 24 hour and weekly charges (see tables below).

Changes are also planned to car parking permits with new permits planned.

The report states the introduction of new permits could offset the rise for regular users.
