PEMBROKESHIRE County Council is asking the people of Milford Haven to get involved, as it backs the Spring Clean Cymru 2018 campaign, which kicks off on March 1.

Backed by Keep Britain Tidy, the nationwide campaign has one ambition – to encourage people across Wales to get together to help clean up our beautiful country.

But it’s not just about picking up litter.

It’s also about sending a clear signal to those who drop the litter that there is growing movement of people who find littering unacceptable.

Community groups, schools and businesses will all be taking part in four days of action.

the county council will be supporting the campaign by offering help to local groups or individuals wishing to organise their own clean up.

The authority can provide equipment such as bags, gloves, and litter-picking tools, and can arrange the collection of the bags once the pick has finished.

Anyone wishing to support the campaign but who can’t take part between March 1 and 4 can still get help from the County Council if they wish to tackle the litter in their local area.

Cllr Cris Tomos, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Welsh Language, said: “The County Council can support those who wish to clean up their local community, countryside or coastline at any time during the year."

For advice on organising a local clean-up, please phone the Contact Centre on 01437 764551.
