A WEEK of events celebrating Milford Haven's past and future kicks off with a family fun day this Saturday (June 9).

Milford Haven Founders' Week marks the town's 228-year history, and will see eight days of activities, from live music to cream teas, craft and wedding fairs, and much more.

Saturday's opening fun day in Charles Street begins at 11am, with a display from Milford Haven Gymnastics Club at noon.

At 12.30pm, Little Monsters will entertain your little monsters, with dance demonstrations at 1.30pm and 2pm.

Milford Haven Town Band will liven up the afternoon at 2.30pm, followed by more children's entertainment, and Alpha Kick Boxing showing off their skills at 3.30pm.

There will be family friendly entertainment galore, including free children's rides and face painting, and plenty of refreshments.

On Sunday, June 10, Flowers and Favours will host a wedding fair at Milford Haven Rugby Club between noon and 4pm, and the Made in Milford craft show launches at 7pm at St Katharine and St Peter's Church, continuing throughout the week from 10am until 4pm.

Watch a micro beading demonstration at the church from 11am until 1pm on Monday, and enjoy a bingo night at the Pill Social Centre from 8pm.

Tuesday brings coffee and chat from 11am until 2pm at the Mount Community Centre, followed by 'learn to crochet' at St Katharine's at 2pm.

Milford Haven Town Band and Junior Town Band will perform a free outdoor concert at the Memorial Gardens at 7pm

Bring a blanket and a picnic.

On Wednesday, make a beeline for the spinning demonstration at the church from 11am, or head down to In House Crafts on the marina for 2pm to take part in a craft workshop.

At 6pm, All Pets Vet Care hosts a fancy dog walk on the waterfront, with prizes for the best entries.

Learn how to make a teacup pincushion with My Little Treasures at the Made in Milford exhibition at 11am on Thursday, and test your general knowledge with a quiz at the Pill Social Club at 7pm.

Milford Youth Centre hosts an intergenerational skill share session at 1pm on Friday, and enjoy free children's activities at the Mount Community Centre from 4pm to 6pm.

Saturday, June 16, brings the week to a close, with the mayor's civic service, and a mini golf tournament at Milford Haven Museum from noon until 3pm.
