THE dangers of jumping into busy waters are being brought to life for pupils of all ages in Milford Haven this week.

Award-winning play Would You Jump, by bilingual theatre company Theatr na nÓg, highlights the risks involved in 'tombstoning' and swimming in busy boating areas, such as the Haven waterway.

As well as a week of performances in front of pupils at Milford Haven School and its feeder schools, the actors involved have also been holding workshops to highlight the dangers involved, and youngsters have been learning basic first aid.

Originally co-commissioned by the Port of Milford Haven in 2017, the project has been a huge success so far and has made a difference to the levels of incidences that port authorities have encountered.

The production combines beautiful storytelling with engaging characters and hard-hitting themes of peer-pressure.

The success of the ‘Would You Jump?’ project placed Theatr na nÓg and their collaborators as nominees for the Arts & Business Awards, in the category of Arts, Business and the Environment.

In an award-ceremony at Wales Millenium Centre in May 2018 they scooped the award, with all judges in agreement.

Among the performers touring the play is Pembrokeshire actor and singer Rosey Cale.

The 23-year-old recently graduated in BA Acting from UWTSD.

Just Jump is Rosey’s professional debut as an actor.

In 2016 Rosey released her debut EP as a singer songwriter called ‘Creating Images’.

She appeared as a live guest on BBC Radio Wales on Jamie Owen’s Morning Show and has had multiple plays on many UK radio stations. Rosey took the lead role of Emmie in Theatr na nÓg’s new musical ‘Eye Of The Storm’ which toured in September 2017.
