A PIRATE parr-ty raised more than £1,400 for local youngsters last weekend.
Dale Pirate Day, historically held to raise money for new play equipment for the village, was this year in aid of West Wales Activity Group's Make a Difference days, and the Peninsula Enterprise Resource Kitty (PERKY).
The former uses locals' skills and expertise in the water, and around marine biology and environmental art, to provide adventure-packed days out for local children.
PERKY focuses on providing grants for local groups or organisations, to enable youngsters from Dale and the surrounding area to take part in cultural, sporting, educational or fun activities.
This year's hearty party was a huge success.
The sun shone all day, with visitors taking part in a bay treasure hunt, crabbing, crafts and games, facepainting, and topped off with a punishing Walk the Plank.
A spokesman said: "In total more than £1,400 was raised for the two groups, which means more children will benefit during the year ahead.
"The organisers would like to thank all of those who donated towards the event, and all the visitors who made it such a fun and friendly day."
