ON Saturday, September 22, Inner Wheel Club of Milford Haven marked International Day of Peace by planting roses at the town's memorial gardens.

They were joined by local sponsors, deputy mayor Terry Davies, Inner Wheel District Chairman and youngsters from Pembrokeshire Siblings Group, the Inner Wheel's charity for the coming year.

President Vicky Brown said: “We truly hope these roses serve to remind us all of the value of peace. Peace is paramount, peace is precious.”

Cllr Davies unveiled a plaque and invited everyone back to the town hall for refreshments.

Inner Wheel Club of Milford Haven was overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses who sponsored the event.

Special thanks went to Mayor Rose Gray, Colin Sharp, Anna Waters and Moyra Galliford for their sponsorship, as well as local businesses Pure Art, In House Crafts, Gordon Bennett’s, Image by Vanessa, All Vets Pet Care, Redhill School, LBS Builders Merchants, Boobaloo, Cleddau Memorials and Honeyborough Garden Centre.

Local chocolatier Trwffl not only sponsored a rose but also gave the children delicious chocolates on the day.
