DYFED-POWYS Police have arrested five people on suspicion of being involved in 'county lines' and the supply of a class A drug.

An eyewitness on the scene, who did not wish to be named, said they had seen the police smash a patio door and make several arrests.

The arrests were made following a warrant at an address in Elm Lane this morning (Friday, September 28), and all five have been taken to police custody.

Milford Mercury:

A police spokesman said that officers are treating the activity as related to county lines, and are linking the individuals to others previously arrested in the area.

County lines is the name given to criminal activity from major cities using vulnerable children and adults to transport cash and drugs into rural areas.

There will be a high presence of police in The Mount area over the coming days as officers reassure residents that they are taking a strong stance on organised crime and drug-related activity.

Pembrokeshire Superintendent Ross Evans said: “We want people to know that if there is any hint of organised crime within our communities, we will find out about it and we will tackle it robustly.

“Local officers have acted swiftly and decisively in this case,  and members of the public can be assured that we will always deal with any suspected organised criminality quickly and very assertively.

“Working with our partners, we will make sure that Pembrokeshire continues to be a hostile environment for criminals involved in supplying drugs.

“I would like to thank the communities of Pembrokeshire for their great support and ask that any concerns are reported to us at the earliest opportunity.

"Extra Local officers will be on foot patrol in The Mount over the coming days, along with the mobile police station, and are more than happy to talk to any residents with concerns about illegal activity in the area.”
