TWO Milford Haven cadets travelled to Weston Super Mare last week, to go before the area promotion board.

The board covers uniform standards, ceremonial, drill instruction, lesson delivery, interview and knowledge, and was overseen by Commander Clive Smith Royal Navy, training manager for the south west area.

Able Cadet Rhys successfully passed the new Leading Cadet Board, and is the fourth success story for Milford Haven in recent years.

With Leading Cadet Duncan successfully passing the new Petty Officer Cadet Board and becoming the unit's first top promoted cadet since the introduction of the board nearly three years ago.

Lieutenant (SCC) William Elliott RNR, Commanding Officer said: “I am extremely proud of the hard work and determination that the now Leading Cadet Rhys and Petty Officer Cadet Duncan put into being able to reach this point.

"This is a fantastic achievement and all those connected to the unit are very proud of you both!”
