NEYLAND Carnival Committee, which enjoyed one of its best carnivals for many years this July, has presented nearly £3,000 to local charities.
At a presentation evening, held on October 15, charities including Neyland Junior School, Neyland Youth Club, special needs playgroup SNAP; Forget me Not, and Neyland Junior rugby, cricket, and football teams; Mercury Talking Newspaper, Neyland Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and Rainbows; Pensioners’ Voice, Sandy Bear, VIBE, and Mastlebridge and Llanstadwell church halls all benefitted from the money raised by the committee.
Committee Chairman Malcolm Hawkins said: “This year was one of the best we’ve had for many years, with over 1,000 people there.”
This was the fourth carnival in recent years, after it had been dormant for several years.
The main charities supported by the committee are Forget Me Not, HOPE, and Wales Air Ambulance.
