GHOULISH gourds and spooky squash had their brains scooped out at the Mount Community Centre on Tuesday afternoon.

A pumpkin carving session saw 27 of the orange ornaments hollowed out in time for Hallowe'en.

Organised by the Mount Time Bank project, the day was supported by Milford Haven Rotary Club.

Rotary Club member Chris Davies said: "There was a great cross section of people and ages, and it was nice to see people enjoying themselves.

"These activities are the sorts of things needed to build a community."

The carved pumpkins will be used for a spooky party at the community centre later today (Wednesday).
