Ripping pages from an album of matrimonial memories led to a court appearance for a Milford Haven man.

John Edward Norman, of Cromwell Road, pleaded guilty to criminal damage and Class B drug possession when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates from custody on Monday, November 5.

The court heard that he was found in possession of a gram of cannabis after damaging the wedding album in Milford Haven on November 3.

Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones told the court that Norman, 53, and the complainant lived separately but spent most evenings together, and she still had an album of pictures from her wedding to her first husband.

“For some reason she shows that to the defendant. He says it’s to cause arguments and wind him up.

“On this occasion they had an argument and he ripped two pages out of the album.”

When arrested Norman was found to be in possession of a gram of cannabis.

Mike Kelleher, defending, said: “These pages were ripped out, not ripped up, they are intact and just need to be put back in.”

Magistrates fined Norman £200 for each offence and ordered him to pay £115 in costs and a surcharge.

A destruction order was made for the cannabis.
