A HAKIN man has been ordered to pay £1,252 after he armed himself with a shovel and destroyed a front door.
Robert Anthony Daines, of Croft Avenue, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, December 18.
Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that Daines, 44, had been embroiled in an argument in Haven Drive, Hakin, on May 18, when he destroyed a front door after arming himself with a shovel.
Glass was smashed and the lower half of the door became stuck, causing £684.95 of damage.
Mike Kelleher, defending, said the incident was part of an ongoing dispute between Daines and another person.
“He accepts that he should not have done what he did and is prepared to pay for the door.”
Mr Kelleher added: “It is a very regrettable thing and it will not happen again.”
Magistrates fined Daines £438 and ordered him to pay £685 compensation for the door to Pembrokeshire County Council.
He will also pay £85 court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.
