A Milford Haven man was found hiding in a garden after running away from police, a court has heard.
David William McNaughton, of Dewsland Street, pleaded guilty to wilfully obstructing a constable in the execution of her duty when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, December 18.
Sian Vaughan, prosecuting, told the court that McNaughton, 31, was in the process of being arrested and handcuffed in Milford Haven on December 5, when he pulled away and ran off across the street.
Officers gave chase and found McNaughton hiding in a nearby garden shortly afterwards.
Stuart John, defending, said: “When the police came to see him he panicked and made the impulsive decision to run away.”
Magistrates fined McNaughton £40 and ordered him to pay £85 court costs plus a £30 surcharge.
