SAUNDERSFOOT's hard-working committee of Cancer Research UK has had another successful year of fund-raising.
Events, collections and donations over the past 12 months have enabled the committee to donate the superb sum of £4,000 to the national charity.
Fundraisers during 2018 included a sales table every Tuesday from March to December in the Regency Hall, with a book and bric-a-brac sale on Saundersfoot harbour each Monday between May and September.
Sponsorship and a donation from the Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim; donations from Vale Holiday Park; the Merlewood Hotel's coffee and carols event and the Saundersfoot Rotary Club duck race also boosted the total.
There were also donations from collecting boxes, collections at local stores, the sale of Christmas cards and stock and the proceeds from coffee mornings, Pancake Day and the committee's regular November auction.
The committee and chairman George Cavell have now presented their £4,000 cheque to Cancer Research UK's local fundraising manager, Emma Shiggins.
Mr Cavell expressed the committee's gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has supported the charity over the years.
