MONEY raised via an online auction will help Milford Haven youngsters have fun.

The Mount Estate Parent Play Team (MEPPT) recently received £100 from Milford Haven Ladies Circle (MHLC) from the proceeds of an online auction.

“We are extremely grateful to all the businesses who donated prizes as without them we could not have run the auction,” explained Circle chairman Gabrielle Swales

She added: “The auction was a great success and money was raised for worthy local causes including the Play Team.

"We all know that it will be put to good use.

"It’s a fantastic project and they deserve the support 100 per cent.

“We cannot wait to come back to see how they are getting on.”

Sarah Howlin from the MEPPT said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to the Milford Haven Ladies Circle.

“This money will help us purchase more equipment as well as assisting us with the cost of weekly items we purchase for the children such as marshmallows and wood for the open pit fire.

“It means a lot to us that local groups are willing to help keep us going and I hope to see them attend some of our sessions which will run every Thursday starting 7th when we will be having our MEPPT re-launch event.”

Pembrokeshire County Council’s play sufficiency officer Damian Golden said the gesture was a big boost for the Play Team, as it comprised volunteers who gave up their time for the sole benefit of others.

The authority’s housing customer liaison officer, Nia Davies, added: “It’s really encouraging for MEPPT to receive a donation from another local group and is recognition of the brilliant work they are doing in their community.”
