A PUBLIC meeting to begin planning Neyland's annual summer carnival will take place on Monday, March 11.

A town council spokesman said: "We are looking for people to volunteer their time to providing another fantastic carnival, and to voice any concerns that you have regarding previous carnivals. "Last year we had a brilliant day and the monies we raised went back into the community.

"Look forward to seeing you there."

Almost £3,000 was raised through last year's event, which was donated to July, local causes including Neyland Junior School, Neyland Youth Club, special needs playgroup SNAP, Forget me Not, and Neyland Junior rugby, cricket, and football teams, the Mercury Talking Newspaper, Neyland Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and Rainbows; Pensioners’ Voice, Sandy Bear children’s bereavement service, VIBE, and Mastlebridge and Llanstadwell church halls.

The meeting will take place at 8pm at the Athletic Club, and everyone is invited.
