PEMBS LGBTQ Plus group is hosting a film night at the Torch Theatre this Friday, March 8.
Boy Erased tackles the subject of 'gay conversion therapy' and features Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe as Christian parents to 18-year-old Jared (played by Lucas Hedges).
Jared has a seemingly great relationship with his mother and father, but he is concealing his sexual identity from them.
When he is outed to his parents, Jared is faced with an ultimatum: attend a conversion therapy program - or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith.
Meet in the Torch Theatre bar at 7.45pm, the film starts at 8pm.
Pembs Plus is a community group set up last year to offer support and social opportunities for members of the county's LGBTQ+ community, their allies and families.
It is run by volunteers.
