FOUR months after extreme flooding hit forced some families from their homes, a team of volunteers are determined to help one Milford Haven couple.

In November heavy rain and dirty flood water swamped several properties in Haven's Head and Lower Priory, destroying furniture, flooring and much-loved possessions.

Now Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) wants to lead a DIY SOS-style team to continue the clean-up, and get an elderly couple back in their home.

The project will see the house restored and redecorated, with local businesses invited to donate equipment, tools and furniture.

In particular, carpet shops and kitchen shops would be particularly helpful.

The first session will take place on Friday, March 15, from 10am to 4pm.

Due to limited room, volunteers per session will be limited, but anyone who is able to help - especially any qualified tradespeople who would be happy to lend their skills - should contact Lee Hind at PAVS on lee.hind@pavs.org.uk or leave a message on 07973 636302
