Dear Editor

I refer to an article in your paper regarding the District Enforcement officers and comments from Councillor Pat Davies stating that they are “keeping our streets clean”.

As a responsible dog owner who cleans up after my dog I applaud calling to account those who do not.

However recently I witnessed an enforcement officer trying to give a fixed penalty notice to a dog owner who was adamant that his dog had squatted to urinate not foul.

The dog owner challenged the officer to show him where the dog had fouled and the officer said he didn’t have to.

So I would say to Councillor Pat Davies what is the point in fining people and then not making them remove the mess? IT IS STILL THERE.
