NEYLAND Town Council is giving out free wildflower seeds and bee identification pack to gardeners in Neyland, as part of its commitment to the Bee-Friendly scheme.
Supplies are limited and are on a first come first served basis.
Please collect from Snack Shack or from the Town Council offices in High Street.
A trophy will be handed out to the best wild flower display later in the year.
"The Bee Friendly scheme was launched to try to stop the decline of bees in Wales, as we have lost several species already, and without pollinators, most plants would die out," said local councillor Adam Pollard-Powell.
St Davids was named Wales' first 'bee-friendly' city in 2018, and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has also since achieved this status
"The Bee Friendly initiative looks at providing areas of meadow and other habitats for insects such as log piles and "bug hotels" to shelter over-wintering insects."
Plants with the most pollen-power include lavendar, pussy willow, honeysuckle and apple trees.
If anyone, especially land-owners, would like more information on the project in Neyland, please contact Councillor Adam Pollard-Powell by calling 07934 453989 or email adampembs@gmail.com
