DESPITE a bitterly cold wind chill, well over 100 vehicles including five HGV tractor units assembled at Sageston to take part on the Western Telegraph South Pembrokeshire and Carmarthen Bay Run 2019 in support of the Paul Sartori Foundation.

The April 14 event was the first Pembrokeshire County Motoring Event of the 2019 season.

The vehicles arrived at the Plough Inn, Sageston, between 9.30am to 11am ready for the start at 11.30am.

The entries were waved off by the Pembrokeshire County Council Chairman Aden Brinn, along with a representative of the Paul Sartori Foundation and the manager of The Plough Inn.

The 47-mile motoring tour with its stunning views was via Kilgetty, Templeton, Princess Gate, Tavernspite, Red Roses and then following the old A477 to Llanddowror.

The tour then made its way via Laugharne, of Dylan Thomas and Under Milk Wood fame, then Pendine, famous for its world land speed records of the early years of the 20th century.

The tour then made its way to Amroth and Wisemans Bridge and Saundersfoot.

The vehicles then headed to the stunning seaside resort of Tenby, were they did a drive-thru along its stunning South Parade and elegant Esplanade.

On leaving Tenby the final leg of the motoring tour was via Gumfreston, returning to The Plough Inn.

The founders and organisers Jeff and Sian Edwards were delighted with the turnout to promote the county and to help chosen charity the Paul Sartori Foundation.

Jeff and Sian are very grateful to the Western Telegraph, Phil Thompson, Paul Sartori Foundation, The Plough Inn, and to everyone who braved the bitterly cold weather to make this very popular event such a success.

Their next motoring event will be the Western Telegraph Preseli Bluestone Run 2019 on Sunday, June 9, in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
