MILFORD Fish Festival is back for 2019, with the 'fin-tastic' free event taking place on Saturday, June 22.

The festival runs from 10am to 8pm in a new location, on Mackerel Quay, with a variety of activities on offer.

Pure West Radio will be entertaining visitors with live music acts on stage and there will be walkabout entertainers throughout the day.

There will also be activities for children, with cookery classes and craft workshops as well as face painting, miniature ponies and an interactive fishing pool.

The ‘Fish Kitchen’ will have seafood cookery demonstrations from local chefs as well as coastal foraging demonstrations from Craig Evans, and the Milford Chowder Trail will also be making a return for this year’s event.

Visitors can help decide which of the participating businesses at Milford Waterfront will be crowned ‘Milford Chowder Champion 2019’ by picking up a score sheet and commemorative bowl on the day for £5, and putting the recipes to the taste test.

Streetfood Warehouse has confirmed street food stalls, including Swshi, Assembelly, The Pod, Choc Shop and the Streetfood Warehouse Bar. There will be a selection of stalls selling local produce and crafts and opportunities to get on the water with taster boat trips from Discover Coast and Cleddau and canoeing from Paddle West.

Natalie Hunt, events and activities co-ordinator for Milford Waterfront, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing Milford Fish Festival back this year. The launch event of Pembrokeshire Fish Week is part of the heart and soul of Milford Haven.

“We’re putting lots of effort and passion into this event, and we’ll have plenty to shout about in the run up to it, so be sure to keep an eye out on our social media channels and ‘What’s On’ page on our website.”

Milford Fish Festival is the launch event of Pembrokeshire Fish Week, run by Pembrokeshire County Council, and takes place this year from June 22-30.
