I HAVE never written to your publication before but I would like to use your column to say that I had to be admitted to Withybush General hospital for a month recently.
I have nothing but praise for all the staff and doctors that are under pressure, but do an excellent job.
Ok, there are bound to be one or two blips, but is anything perfect?
I think we have an up-to-date facility and it frustrates me to think that they want to scale back our hospital.
Also, one point that concerns me is all the money that has been raised from charitable sources for the various departments will not be swallowed up by Hywel Dda University Health Board.
We do not need a new hospital when we have got this excellent one down here, so I say Mr Drakeford [First Minister Mark Drakeford] stay as near Cardiff as you like but leave us alone down here.
ALBIN VAUGHAN JENKINS,
Poyston Cross
