THE first Gelliswick Bay Raft Race in several years was held earlier this month, with five rafts taking to the Haven.
The June 1 event followed a successful Sea Scouts Fun Day.
After a tense build-up, seeing Pembrokeshire Yacht Club juniors’ raft become two rafts soon after a launch, the team battled round the bay.
Despite some last-minute adjustments and extra screws, the Round Table powered to victory, the Ladies Circle in second place, beating the Pembrokeshire Yacht Club nuns into third, with a good effort from 2nd Milford Haven Scouts.
The organisers would like to thank to Invest Local Hubberston and Hakin for the support of both events.
