A NEW caravan and camp site has opened in the heart of the Teifi Valley.

Fron Rafel is owned and run by Steve and Cathy Drewett – along with labradors Tilly and Syd – and is situated at Waungilwen, Drefach Felindre.

And the couple hope that their own experience and love of caravanning and camping will ensure the new site offers everything visitors could ask for.

Set in seven acres, it boasts nine large serviced pitches – five with grass and hard standing and four with hard standing. There is also scope for wild camping and a stunning hand-crafted ‘hobbit’ yurt.

The old piggery on the site has been converted into a toilet and shower block, complete with wet room, and there is also a kitchen and laundry.

“We have been here for three years and it has taken a lot of work to get to where we are now,” said Steve, a former builder.

“It’s a stunning location and very quiet and peaceful and while remote, we are close to the main road and towns such as Newcastle Emlyn.

“We have done caravanning and motor-homing for much of our lives and we have set the site up as we would like it from our experiences.”

There are walks cut through the fields and woodland throughout the site, with a large pond and dogs are welcome.
