CARDIGAN Carnival organisers have once again unveiled a fun-packed series of events.

It all kicks off on Saturday, August 3 when an It’s a Knockout competition will be staged from 5pm at Bryscwm Fields following Cardigan Show.

That will be followed on Sunday, August 4 by a walking treasure hunt, starting at The Grovenor at 3pm, followed by a barbecue from 5pm.

Monday (August 5) is the ever-popular bingo night at the Fisherman’s Rest, eyes down at 7pm, while on Tuesday, August 6 there is a teddy bear’s picnic for the kids at Victoria Gardens from noon-3.30pm. That evening, there is also a car treasure hunt, leaving the Mart car park at 6pm (£5 per car).

There is a kids’ fun day planned for the King George V playing fields on Wednesday, August 7 from 1pm-4pm, while that evening the Cellar Bar on Quay Street plays host to Carnival Talent Night from 7.30pm.

There will be a quiz night at the Black Lion on Thursday, August 8, with four to a team and a 7.30pm start.

Friday, August 9 will once again see the Mantle Brewery barrel race take to the streets of Cardigan, with teams of four battling it out from 7pm. It costs £20 a team to enter.

Saturday, August 10 is Carnival Day itself, with the parade through town starting from the Mart car park at 1.30pm (floats to arrive by noon, all walking in fancy dress to start at Biroude Gardens).

The fun rounds off that night with Tommo’s Musical Madness at Cardigan Rugby Club from 7.30pm-midnight. Entry is £5.
