A WONDERFUL presentation evening was held at Neyland Athletic Club on Friday October 18 where 26 organisations and charities were presented with cheques to the value of over £3,000.00.

Cheques were presented by the Carnival Princess, Simon Hancock and the Mayor Bill McGarvie.

The Carnival Chairman, Malcolm Hawkins presented mementoes to all his committee for their sterling work at the 2019 carnival and thanked them all for the work they had put in to make this year's carnival one of the best ever.

Special thanks were given to Bill Taylor and Wil Jones for their management of the floats and walkers at Honeyborough and to Claire and the other members of the committee for their expertise with the registrations etc.

Volunteers who had helped with the gate, street collectors and judging were also thanked for their services.

He also thanked other sponsors who had helped them over the years including the Legionaire,(this year's princess dresses) Sinclair Garages (for the driver John Gidman and car for the carnival princess), Peter Davies and D & P Scaffolding for their hard work on the field, Enviroventure for once again providing the skip and many years of sponsorship.

There were also a big thank you to Diana, Mike Gunnings and the Rose & Willow for past sponsorship (princess dresses) and Cleddau Insurance who again provided the necessary insurance to cover the carnival at a very reduced cost.

Malcom said: "Their help was gratefully accepted and appreciated and we hope the people of Neyland would use their services in the future as a mark of their appreciation for their generous donations

"We mustn't forget the Neyland Athletic Club and their band of helpers who provided us with their venue for the carnival and their meetings facility and Sophie and Diane for their excellent buffet."
