A NEWCASTLE Emlyn man has been given a community order and order to pay compensation after admitting stealing handbags and training shoes worth more than £400 from a Carmarthen shop.
Gwion Llwyd Davies, of Church Lane, Newcastle Emlyn, pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court to the theft of four handbags and the trainers worth a total of £439 from TK Maxx on November 7.
The 26-year-old must comply with the requirements of a community rehabilitation order, which includes a 19-day accredited programme and 250 hours unpaid community work in the next 12 months.
Davies was also ordered to pay compensation of £439, along with prosecution costs of £85 and a £90 victim surcharge.
