A YELLOW weather warning has been put in place for south east England this evening, with heavy rain and high winds expected.
The Met Office warning came into force at 19:40 this evening, and is expected to end at midnight tonight.
The warning reads: "A short period of very heavy rain and gusty winds will make for difficult travel and temporary flooding of some roads."

What to expect
- Spray, flooding and possible tree branches on roads could make journey times longer
- Bus and train services likely affected with journey times taking longer
- Some interruption to power supplies is possible
- Intense rainfall (10 to 15 mm in around half an hour) and winds gusting to 40-45 mph are to be expected, possibly increasing up to 50-55 mph near the south coast.
Travel conditions will be difficult through the rest of this evening, and people are advised to stay indoors as much as possible, not to drive unless necessary, and take care when driving on exposed routes such as bridges, or high open roads.
Some flooding is possible on roads, along with a few fallen branches.
Conditions will gradually ease from the west, and there are currently no weather warnings in place from Sunday.
