A NUMBER of schools in the Amman and Gwendraeth valley have had confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 this week.
It comes as Carmarthenshire is experiencing the highest number of positive cases since the pandemic began with the council leader saying the daily rate of infections is now a serious concern.
According to data from Public Health Wales, there has been a total of 42 cases of school pupils or staff that have tested positive within the last 21days in Carmarthenshire.
This week saw new rules put in place by the Welsh Government where all staff and students in all secondary schools and colleges in Wales now have to wear face coverings in all areas outside of the classroom, including on school transport.
Here is a look at the local schools with reported cases this week, confirmed by Carmarthenshire county council:
- Gorslas Primary school – no pupils or members of staff at the school have been identified as having been in close contact with the individual concerned.
- Ysgol Dyffryn Amman, Ammanford
- Ysgol y Bedol, Garnant
- Brynamman School – no pupils or members of staff at the school have been identified as having been in close contact with the individual concerned.
