Beddau 36 Narberth 26
Narberth played some better rugby than of late in their match at Beddau but the Otters were still ousted as they fought back hard to trail 26-29 but then conceded a late try to finally crush their hopes of a come-back win.
Narberth No 10 Gareth James slotted two early penalties to one by opposite number Brett Davey but then Beddau grabbed the first try of the match when centre Rhys Jenkins went through and Davey added the extras.
Gareth James hauled the Otters back to just 10-9 adrift but then Davey dummied his way over for a try which he also converted before James landed his fourth penalty and Beddau had Jenkins yellow carded.
Trailing by 17-12 at half time, the Otters might have thought they were likely to come back but they were rocked back by 12 points as centre Huw Williams and Davey crossed again, with Davey adding a conversion.
At 29-12 down, Rob Phillips introduced Scott Penney, Jamie Parr, Adrian Chiffi and Aubrey Young into the fray and the Otters fought back with good tries by Nick Davies, a cracker from 55 metres, and Steve Davies, after good work by Nick Jones, both converted by Penney.
With just a three-point deficit a surprise Narberth come-back was on the cards but as they tried to play 'catch-up' rugby they conceded a further try to flanker Rob Downes which Davey inevitably converted to set the seal on Beddau's revenge win for the Otters 24-13 result when the teams met at the Lewis Lloyd Ground.
