Goodwick 1 Tenby 1 GOODWICK were quick to accept that they had been more than a little fortunate to get out of this contest with a point.

Tenby were much the better side for long periods and - but for better finishing and a fine display from home keeper Carl Woodhouse - would have celebrated a comprehensive win.

But, as so often happens, the visitors failed to build on their lead and were left to rue their luck when Rob Couzens pulled a rabbit out of the hat with five minutes to go.

The first 45 saw a midfield battle with neither side able to carve out any real opportunities. Both keepers were virtual bystanders but that all changed in a crazy 15 minute period towards the end of the game.

Tenby clicked up a gear and began to pressurise a Goodwick side that has suffered a host of early-season injuries.

A goal looked inevitable for the visitors and so it proved when Jim Thomas carved open the Goodwick defence with the type of through ball that front-men dream of.

Scott Smith took full advantage and he slotted coolly into the bottom corner of Woodhouse's goal.

The Goodwick number one pulled of a string of excellent saves to keep it at one-nil and Tenby's Ryan Lawrence will still be trying to work out how he failed to double his side's advantage from two golden chances.

But with five minutes left on the clock the ball fell to Couzens 25 yards out and he lashed the ball into the top corner of Christian Philips' goal and bagged a point for the Phoenix Boys.
