The new mayor and deputy mayor-elect of Milford Haven have been appointed.
Following a secret ballot on Monday night Councillor David Friend, was selected as the new deputy mayor-elect, beating Councillor Guy Woodham and Councillor Carol Stevens to the post in a closely-fought contest.
Cllr Friend said: “It is an honour.”
Councillor Eric Harries was also officially appointed as the new mayor-elect and said he was “greatly honoured” that the council had seen fit to bestow him with the role for a fourth term.
Current mayor Councillor Tony Eden congratulated Cllr Harries on his appointment.
“It will be a pleasure to see you occupying the seat once again,” he said.
A ceremony will be held next month when Cllr Harries and Cllr Friend will receive their mayoral chains and officially take over the posts.
