A Milford Haven group has marked a special anniversary with a tree planting ceremony.
The Milford Haven Twinning Association, led by chairman Dorothy Walters, hosted visitors from twin town Romilly-sur-Seine in France last week.
On Thursday host families and guests met with Milford Haven mayor councillor Eric Harries at the Town Hall.
The group also planted a golden ash tree in the memorial gardens in Hamilton Terrace to mark the 50-year anniversary of the towns’ twinning and in memory of the late mayor of Romilly-sur-Seine who had served for more than 36 years.
This year Milford Haven also celebrates 20 years’ twinning with Uman and visitors from the Ukraine town are due to visit Milford Haven next week.
Displays to celebrate Milford Haven Twinning Association in this milestone year have been created in shop windows across the town including at Zenith Interiors in Robert Street, Barnardo’s and the travel agents in Charles Street.
Mrs Walters added: “We are in desperate need of more host families.
“Especially if we are to host the children’s choir from Uman next March,” she said.
