Dear editor, Christians will soon be celebrating the birth of Christ and the renewal of hope. Here we can do so in peace and safety.
In many countries attending Christmas services will carry risks.
In Iraq recently dozens of Christians were killed or injured in an attack on a congregation. In Somalia no real government exists and there is no check on the lynching of Christians.
The violence inflicted on Christians is often a manifestation of a violent and intolerant society and violent and intolerant societies are a threat to all.
Anyone wishing to help Christians persecuted abroad can phone the Barnabas Fund on 024 7623 1923.
