Dear editor, On Saturday, April 9 the Haverfordwest Skateboard Association (HAS) organized a ‘Concert of Young People’s Music and Dance’ at the Pavillion, Withybush Showground, Haverfordwest, and what a resounding success the concert and pig roast was.

Well-known compere Brian Harries used his immeasurable comic and people skills, not only to introduce each art, but also to calm the younger performers waiting in the wings.

Judging by the applause, the full house were treated to a showcase evening of joyous entertainment from talented Pembrokeshire youth including Youth Mania, Seren School of Irish Dance, Homemade and Philip Howells on Marimba.

The Carl Lavender Liberation mobile disco provided the after concert dance music.

Well done to the Pembrokeshire Skateboard Association and long may responsible parents and others support all your future efforts.

To see MP Stephen Crabb and his lovely family together with the Haverfordwest deputy mayor and consort in attendance was a real boost to the moral of the very hard working committee.

Mike Davies, Scotchwell Park, Haverfordwest
