THE judging of this year’s Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards finalists is underway
On Wednesday, July 16 the finalists of the sustainable tourism award were the first businesses to be judged.
The award aims to recognise businesses in Pembrokeshire which demonstrate innovation and the best practise with a green working ethos.
The finalists are The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company, Cwtch Camping and Clynfyw CIC.
Jim Bowen of Clynfyw CIC said: “The team at Clynfyw are delighted to be shortlisted for the sustainable tourism award, we are proud to be among other businesses within Pembrokeshire that have contributed greatly to the tourism and hospitality sector“.
The judging panel included sponsor Alison Belton of Outsource Me Stay Green and Richard Smith, business advisor for Business Wales.
Alison Belton said: "I felt it was important to sponsor this category as it had a definite fit with our business.
“The judging process is always slightly nerve wracking for both business and judge, but I am overwhelmed by the efforts which each of the shortlisted finalists have put in to sustainable processes, purchasing and most importantly education in environmental impact of their business".
Previous winners of the prestigious award include Asheston Eco Barns and The Really Wild Food Festival.
This year’s winners of the Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards will be announced at the gala ceremony on Thursday, October 9 at the Wolfscastle Country Hotel.
